Chef-owner: Hong Tan and Shui Huang Han · Opened 2000
Opened 2000 by Hong Tan and her brother, chef Shui Huang Han. Cambridge was the original; a sister location in Waltham followed. Family-run for 25 years with a mostly Taiwanese menu (not Americanized Chinese) — unusual enough in Boston that food students at MIT Tech still call it out as the reference.
Under $15 per person
Cambridge Taiwanese institution since 2000. Scallion pancakes, soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, and the full Taiwanese home-cooking repertoire that doesn't usually travel to American Chinese restaurants. A second location opened later in Waltham.
